Saint-Brevin-les-Pins

In the past, Saint-Brevin was a fishermen, farmers and sailors parish. But, in the second part of the 19th century, thanks to its location facing the ocean and Saint-Nazaire, tourism and seaside vacations changed quite a few aspects of its social and economic life. Slowly reduced by the increasing sea level and surrounded by large stretches of sand, magnificent villas were soon built whereas pine forests were increasing in scale? The seaside resort called Saint-Brevin-l’Océan, then Saint-Brevin-les-Pins was born. Since the beginning of the century, Saint-Brevin-les-Pins has known how to preserve the quietness of a family and friendly vacation resort.

The transversal limit of the sea – when the Loire and the ocean meet – is situated in Mindin, an old rocky island that shows the changes undergone by the coast through thousands of years.

The bridge of Saint-Nazaire stretching across the estuary links up these towns. Every night, the elegant structure of this prestigious work of art is remarkably lit up.
