Donges

Situated at the mouth of the Loire, Donges is facing Paimboeuf. The town conceals a treasure of places to discover that it owes to a rich and eventful life.
Its location quickly determines its industrial calling : as soon as the first world war, Donges is built to unblock Saint-Nazaire and receive coal and refined petroleum products. Since then, production has constantly been modernized : in Donges scenery stand the flames of the flares, the high chimneys and the abstract world of pipes and columns of Total refinery, the second one in France.

Surrounded by marshes, Donges is also a city of water. Between country and industrialization, the heart of the town in bloom is the gateway to the Brière region.
