Near the lake, a bench invites visitors to contemplate the castle. While sitting down, they are surprised by a 20-metre (65-foot) high gush of water. As soon as they stand up, the “fountain” stops and visitors realize they are making it work.

Uncluttered down and geometrical objects, discreet and playful installations, Jeppe Hein’s (1974, Copenhagen) works can be seen as belonging to the tradition of minimalist sculpture, while at the same time contradicting it: spectators can modify these works since their presence activates apparently inanimate objects – or, on the contrary, certain works come to life only when the public is absent.
